I wanted to hug this statue of the obsessively faithful Hachiko. I
watched both the Japanese 1987 "Hachiko Monogatari" and the new
Hollywood "Hachiko: A Dog's Story" recently, and what a festival of
tears they both produced! Anyway, there were too many people around
the statue and I felt a little embarrassed, so no hugging transpired.
